Ladakh, the land of jagged peaks and barren landscape is alluring and awe-inspiring. Hidden behind this harsh and forbidding façade is an ancient civilization and captivating people. Beyond the old frontiers lies the land of wilderness with its unaltered character and overwhelming natural beauty beckoning the more intense and adventurous of travelers. This awesome wildness and magic belongs to that great land of towering mountains and Buddhist simplicity – Ladakh. The largest of the 10 provinces of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh is bordered by the Karakoram chain of mountains in the north and the Himalayas in the south. With the great Indus flowing right through Ladakh, the province is divided into Leh, the capital, Nubra, Zanskar, lower Ladakh and Rupshu. The many distinctive features of Ladakh are its uplands, craggy, barren cliffs and plateaus. Governed by a climate that provides about 50mm of each Year, Ladakh is cold and dry. One, therefore, will be faced with a long and bitter winter of frozen landscape but yet very beautiful, and a short, hot summer when the precious glaciers melt.

MANALI TO SARCHU (230 Kms. 7-8 HOURS)

By morning, after breakfast head take the road towards to Jispa via Keylong from here.
Travel a total of 110 kms from Manali via Rohtang Pass, we will reach small village Tandi, located 7kms before the city of Keylong.
Car Refuel at Tandi, It’s the last petrol station before reach at Leh and we will processed for Sarchu, which is a tough 105kms stretch crossing the Baralacha La Pass
First halt would be at Darcha that is 10 kms from Jispa for police check post, Situated at 4890 mtr. From Darcha to Baralacha La is around 40 kms. The name means ‘pass with crossroads on summit’ (roads from Ladakh, Spiti and Lahaul join at the top).
This high mountain pass in the Zanskar range connects the Lahaul district in HP to Ladakh in J&K.
We will later halt at colourful dhabas Bharatpur for lunch, then after 1-hour travelling, we would reach at Sarchu which is our overnight place, Overnight stay at Sarchu camp.

SARCHU TO LEH (260 Kms. 8-9 HOURS)

After breakfast today we have to travel almost 230 kms. During the travelling on the way to you will be enjoy to full of beautiful landscapes.
We will cross Gata Loops and Moore Plains on the way to Leh. Pang a scenic spot in Ladakh landscape further that you will come to cross the pass which is Lachungla pass (16600 ft).
Start your drive towards Leh enroute crossing Taglangla pass (17480 ft) Taglangla is part of Ladakh region. By the evening you will reach at Leh, Overnight stay at Leh hotel.

LOCAL SIGHTSEEING (50 Kms. 2-3 HOURS ONE WAY)

Today after having breakfast at hotel, you will proceed for the local sightseeing.
First you will visit 3 idiots school at Shey village is also known as Druk Padma Karpo School, the school shot popularity after it was featured in bollywood 3 idiots.
3 idiots school shows rich culture of Ladakh. After that Shey Palace which is 15km from leh it is used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh.
It was built in the beginning of 17th century by Deldan Namgyal, inside Shey place there is 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue
Further that you will visit Thiksey monastery this monastery is considered to be the one of the most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh and belong to the Gelukspa order.
Thiksey monastery is the twelve storey monastery located in the most famous position i.e. on an island mountain.
On the way back to hotel visit Hall of fame, Hall of fame is a museum constructed and maintained by Indian army in the memory of the soldiers who had lost their lives during Kargil wars.
By the evening you will reach at the hotel, overnight stay at Leh hotel.

LEH TO NUBRA VALLEY (125 Kms. 4-5 Hours One Way)

Early morning proceed to Nubra Valley via the World Highest Motorable road (5602 Mts) Khardungla pass. Arrive Nubra and proceed for a visit to the White Sand Dunes at Hunder. You can enjoy the camel ride (On Own). Later visit Hunder and Diskit monasteries.
KHARDUNGLA PASS: The road journey to Nubra valley leads through Khardung La pass (The highest Motorable road in the world) 18,390 ft. around 39 Kms. Away from Leh. There are two checkpoints on the both sides of the pass. Khardong is the first village of Nubra valley at higher altitude than Deskit and other villages
DESKIT VILLAGE: Deskit is the main village of headquarter of Nubra valley, which has a small market consisting of a row of shops and about 500 years old Gompa on the hilltop. Spectacular view of the valley can be seen form the monastery.
DESKIT GOMPA: Deskit Gompa was founded by Lama Sherab Zangpo of Stod in about 1420 AD during the reign of King Dragspa. About 100 monks are residing in the Gompa, which is a branch of Thikse Monastery. The monastic festival called Gustor takes place on 20th and 21st days of the 12th month of Tibetan calendar.
HUNDAR VILLAGE: Hundar is a beautiful village to stay with lot of trees and you will really enjoy your stay at Hundar. It has a small monastery and ruined fort above the village. The walk or Camel Safari (Double Hump bacterian camels) from Hundar to Deskit, through sand dunes for two hours is wonderful (on own). Overnight stay in Nubra.

NUBRA VALLEY TO PANGONG (145 Kms. 4 – 5 Hours One Way )

After having breakfast at the camp, start your journey towards Pangong via Shyok road. Pangong Lake in Ladakh is the largest salted lake in the world which is 134km long 6km wide located at height of 14256 ft.
and after that you will cross Changla pass (17370 ft) which is 3rd highest Motorable road in the word and further reach Tangste village where passport and inner line permit are checked.
After one hour reach at Pangong Lake, this lake acts an important breeding ground for variety of birds such as bar headed goose, Brahmini ducks.
The lake also supports a number of species of wildlife including Kiang and Marmot.
You will also visit the famous shooting point at Spangmik. By the evening reach at Pangong, Overnight stay at Spangmik camp.

After having breakfast at the camp, start your day early when the surrounding of the lake look even more beautiful.
Later on start driving towards Tsomoriri via Man, Merak and after that Chushul village, Chushul is the border village between India & China.
Later you will reach Tsaga la (15207 ft) by crossing Tsaga la you will reach Loma bend take to your right further you will reach at Mahe Bridge and then Karzok village at Tsomoriri (Tsomoriri lake is 28km long & 8km wide).
which is the breeding ground of many migratory birds including the rare bar-headed geese. By the late evening you will at Karzok, Overnight stay at Karzok camp.

TSOMORRI TO LEH

Today after having breakfast at Tsomoriri camp, start your drive towards Leh visiting Tsokar Lake on the way, After visiting the Tsokar Lake we drive towards Leh enroute Stoping at Tanglangla pass, the second highest motorable pass in the world at 5350 m. Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.

After an early breakfast we check out from the hotel and drive to Sarchu via through Tanglang La Pass 17,585ft world second highest motorable road.
At Pang you can stop for lunch and continue driving to Lachungla pass, which is at a height of 5065 mts. Upon arrival in Sarchu we check in at our Camp for overnight.
. It will also be the coldest night during the whole tour.

Today we start our journey to Manali via Baralacha Pass (4890m), Keylong (3350 m), & Rohtang Pass (3978 m).
Manali, Located in the most charming and beautiful Kullu valley spreads out its charm on either side of river Beas.Kullu was once known as Kulanthpitha, which means the end of the habitable world.
Beyond rose the forbidding heights of the Greater Himalayas, and by the banks of the shining river Beas, lay the fabled ‘Silver Valley’.
The valley runs north to south of Beas River and is 80 kms. Long and about 2 kms wide.
